Black Dahlia Avenger II: The True Story
In 1947, Elizabeth Short, a young aspiring actress, was brutally murdered in Los Angeles. Her body was found severed in half and drained of blood, with her face slashed from ear to ear. The case, known as the Black Dahlia murder, quickly became one of the most infamous unsolved crimes in American history.
In 1991, Steve Hodel, a former LAPD detective, published a book titled Black Dahlia Avenger, in which he claimed to have solved the case. Hodel accused his own father, George Hodel, a prominent Los Angeles physician, of being the killer. He based his theory on a series of circumstantial evidence, including the fact that George Hodel had been a suspect in the case in 1947, and that he had a history of violence against women.
